He called for holding the elections honorably and expressed: The honor of Islamic Republic is the honor of Islam.
His holiness added: Although some of present governments are mixed with Islam, but at present the only country having the flag of an Islamic government is Iran, and the criterion for legislation of its constitution is the life-giving instructions of Islam.
In another part of his speech, he referred to the last Ten Days of month of Safar and said: Closing seminary courses during first ten days of Moharram, last ten days of Safar and the blessed month of Ramadan are useful and necessary and result in conveying the message of Islam to various classes of people.
Appreciating the activities performed for sending the seminary preachers throughout the country during the propagations periods, he said: Sending female seminaries to the girl schools is valuable and effective, and it is good that Jameatol Zahra (a.s.) and female seminaries take action for sending the female seminary students who are able to orate and express rules to the girl schools.
His holiness called clarification on Ashura rise by the preachers very important and stipulated: We have gained many honors thanks to mourning ceremonies for Imam Hossein (a.s.), and the code of survival of Shiite is survival of mourning for Imam Hossein (a.s.).
Stating that the Islamic Revolution in Iran is the fruit of Ashura rise, His holiness said: 15 Khordad event and arrest of Ulama and orators happened in Ashura period. The religious people of Azerbaijan Republic too rose against the occupiers at the time of then Soviets thanks to mourning for Imam Hossein (a.s.). Therefore, Ashura ceremonies and mourning for Sayedoshohada enjoys a high significance.
His holiness said that the clergymen have a heavy responsibility for publicizing about the event of Ashura, and expressed: The esteemed orators enjoying the ability of propagation and it is possible for them to publicize, shall not ignore this important task. This task may even surpass the level of “sufficient duty” and change to an “individual duty”.
Emphasizing on holding mourning ceremonies for Sayedo Shohada in the traditional form (without hurting body), his holiness remarked: Thanks to mourning for Imam Hossein (as..), the Islamic rulings, Quran and Islamic belief tenets are expressed for people.
His holiness addressed clergymen: Try to state your subjects derived f r o m the authentic books and invite the esteemed orators and eulogists to use these books. Appropriate books are written in this regard by the great Ulama such as Allameh Majlesi, Mofid, Sayed Ebne Tavous, Sheikh Abbas Qomi and Moghram, who have preserved the sanctum of Imam Hossein (a.s.)
His holiness stressed on not tainting mourning for Imam Hossein (a.s.) with superstitious ideas and expressed: The event of Karbala was an intellectual invitation and rise and the rationality of this rise shall be protected through authentic books.
His holiness said that referring to the dreams in the mourning gatherings for Sayedo Shohada is not appropriate and stipulated: Even the elegies shall be appropriate for the great and high personality of Imam Hossein (a.s.) and his companions and family. First, we shall consider the objectives.
His holiness called correction of Prophet’s nation (s.a.) as one of the objective of Ashura rise, and said: Umayyad had corrupted the Islamic society and deviated people f r o m the faith in God, prophethood and Walayat. Imam Hossein (a.s.) rose for the real correction of people. The vices had increased in Medina during that period and thanks to the Umayyad government, the gatherings for moral vices and debauchery were formed. Therefore, his other objective according to his sermons was to bid to good and forbid of wrong thanks to the Islamic government. Today too, in the present world, the vices and evils are distributed and spread through satellite, internet and tainted mass media. A dam of faith and virtue shall be made against this cultural aggression, and specially the youths shall be immunized against such damages.
He (according to some of Ziarat letters by Hazrat) called informing and awakening people as one of the other objectives of Imam Hossein’s (a.s.) movement, and expressed: We shall explain to people these objectives and explain for them to know that the great and unique event of Ashura is not a limited to simple issues.
