Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi arrived in Imam Sajjad (a) Seminary School at 8:45 am on Friday, and he cast his ballots in the mobile ballot box number 505 at the beginning of polling in both the 10th parliamentary and the fifth Assembly of Experts elections.
Referring to the importance of elections in the Islamic Republic, his eminence stated: “I thank Allah because of having the chance to take part in these elections as well, for this opportunity is a bounty from Allah”.
He further noted: “today, when I went to visit the holy shrine of Lady Fatimah Ma‘sumah (a), I prayed to Allah specifically about three issues:
First, I asked Allah to help all those who take part in the elections and to solve their problems.
Second, I prayed to Him to make these elections a source of happiness for the Iranian people and the friends of Iran, and a source of disappointment and despair for the enemies.
My third prayer to Allah was that I asked Him to bless the authorities with the opportunity to take more effective actions, compared to past, to solve the problems which the people face”.
