Congratulating the birthday anniversaries of the Imams in the month of Sha’ban, and in particular that of Imam Sajjad (a.s.), at the beginning of his Fiqh course in A’ezam Mosque in Qom, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi called the books Sahifeh Sajjadiyyeh and Imam Sajjad’s legal treatise highly instructive and rich in contents. He also stated that it is essential for all scholars and clerics to become familiar with these two books.
Condemning the crimes of the Takfiri Wahhabis in Qatif, he continued: “the Takfiri Wahhabis blasted a bomb the Mosque of Imam Ali bin Abitaleb (a.s) among the prayers with more than one hundred casualties.”
Referring to the fact that the ISIL and Al Qaeda terrorist groups have claimed responsibility for this atrocity His eminence noted: “The entire world condemned this terrorist attack and the Saudi officials and clerics also did that; but they assume that the people of the world are so naïve and uninformed to be deceived by such empty words.”
He further stated: “these crimes are all rooted in your Wahhabism; I was once looking at one of the books which they teach in their high schools. In that book it was explicitly said that those who visit the tombs of the deceased are pagans and it is permissible to kill them and take away their possessions! And this includes both Shiites and Sunnites, because both Shiites and Sunnites pay visits to the tombs of their leaders and Imams”.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi further stated: “you have filled your textbooks with such teachings and now you are condemning a crime which is in accordance with these techings! You should first close down such schools which propagate such wicked teachings”
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, then, addressed the Wahhabi scholars and Muftis and said: “how can you, who call yourselves religious scholars, limit your reactions to a mere condemnation of such crimes in words without any regard to their roots? These crimes will, indeed, one day inflict you as well”.
He further stated: “today the world is experiencing perhaps the darkest era in the history of mankind”.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi concluded: “we strongly condemn this heinous and tragic crime and we pray to Allah Almighty to obliterate the roots of such evil schools of thought in this holy month”.
