In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Compassionate
“… and give glad tidings to the patient- [Those] who, whenever a calamity strikes them, say: “To Allah we belong, and to Him shall we return.”
The great Muslim Ummah, the truth-seekers of the world, and the noble and strong Iranian nation! Once again, the filthy hand of the sworn disbelieving enemies of humanity has been extended forth, martyring the wise Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the helmsman of the fight against global imperialism, and the leader of humanity to the illuminated path of the School of the Ahl al-Bayt (͑a).
He was an enlightened and courageous Leader, who strove hard throughout his life on the path of the Islamic Revolution, truly resisted against the storm of times, adversities, and pressures, and has now attained his long-cherished wish and joined the ranks of the martyrs and the Imam of Martyrs. ‘And of them is he who has fulfilled his vow, and of them is he who is still awaiting [martyrdom]’.
Although this loss is immensely heavy, the history of Islam testifies that jihad in the path of Allah and striving for what is right have always yielded the desirable results through such sacrifices, and such martyrdoms are the price of dignity, independence, and the prelude to the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (͑a).
At this critical juncture, a few essential points need to be made to all the dear Muslim people of Iran and all the Muslim around the world:
1. We must always remember that the powerful Hand of Allah is superior to all powers. In these trials, let not weakness find its way in to your hearts, for the promise of Allah’s aid is unbreakable: ‘If you support Allah, He will support you’.
2. Just as the Holy Quran warns all regarding the passing of the Prophet of Allah (ṣ): ‘And Muhammad is not but a prophet. [Other] prophets have passed on before him. So, if he dies or is slain, will you revert back to disbelief?! And whoever reverts back to disbelief will never harm Allah at all!’ Likewise, the martyrdom of the servants of the religion must not cause the slightest wavering in resolve. The Islamic Revolution is a pure tree that was not grown and sustained by a single person, and by the Grace of Allah and by adhering to the Quranic verse ‘Indeed, Allah is with the pious’ the banner of this movement will never fall to the ground, God-willing.
3. It is now time for the Assembly of Experts to carry out their important mission and to carry out its duties without delay and with firmness, according to the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the decision of this Assembly is the final word legally and religiously.
4. It is incumbent upon all government departments and officials to carry out their duties, concerning a situation like this, with increased motivation and greater prudence, and to advance the affairs of the country, ensuring that the people’s affairs are in order and that the society is not disturbed in the slightest.
5. We are in the midst of a full-scale war. The mighty military and law enforcement forces, which are the source of the people’s sense of security, must destroy any plots by the enemies to disturb the society with steadfastness and without the slightest leniency, and counter them with wisdom until the enemies are completely annihilated.
6. The key to our victory is unity. The religious duty of all well-wishers and all members of the nation is to safeguard the integrity and unity of the nation and confront any enemy infiltration and destructive rumors spread by them.
7. The Iranian nation and the Muslim world are the avengers of the martyred Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. The masterminds behind this crime are the arrogant American government and the accursed Zionist regime, and avenging him is a religious duty for all Muslims of the world so that the evil of these atrocious criminals may be eliminated from the world.
8. Let us not neglect praying and seeking the help of the Infallibles (͑a), as we are living under the watch and leadership of our Living Imam, Imam al-Mahdi (͑a), and He will not leave us alone. With a heart overflowing with sorrow but hopeful of divinely-granted victory, we raise our hands in supplication to Allah and pray for the victory of the truth.
In the end, I extend my most heartfelt condolences on the martyrdom of the great Leader of the Islamic Revolution, his most trusted men, and a number of innocent children and people of our country who were also martyred yesterday, to Imam al-Mahdi (͑a), all Muslims of the world, and all free-spirited people around the globe, especially the dear people of Iran. I ask the Almighty Allah to grant those departed souls the highest otherworldly ranks and also abundant patience and reward for the bereaved.
And may peace be upon the righteous servants of Allah.
