In the name of Allah the Compassionate the Merciful
The Ashura of the year 1433 (A.H.) arrives magnificently and the pure blood of the Martyrs of Karbala boils again and the lovers of Imam Husayn’s teachings get ready more and more for observing this glorious and historical ceremony. The righteous and devoted youth are in the front of the ceremony and announce their loyalty by this historical motto that: “Woe unto the Wretched” Now, it is necessary to give all the respected orators, elegists and religious groups some recommendations which God willing lead to Allah and the Twelfth Imam’s satisfaction, May our souls be satisfied for him.
1. observe the ceremony in such a way that the mourners not only mourns excitingly but also be familiar with the high goals and educative teachings of his highness’s school.
2. Seriously avoid using the musical instruments and what is considered as an instrument of committing sin in these spiritual ceremonies. (There is no difficulty with using drum and cymbal for organizing the mournful groups.)
3. The respected elegists avoid the unsuitable and western methods and try to reestablishing the traditional ones and follow the way of people like Di`bal, Kumait, Muhtasham and so on. Because the penetration of these methods damages the authenticity of the commander of Martyrs’ school and opens the way of changing the style of mourning for his highness and this is a big danger.
4. Religious groups and organizers of these ceremonies try to unite rows of mourners with each other and don’t let ill-intentioned people sow the seeds of discord among them. Today unity is the most necessary necessity.
5. Since the time of elections is near, it is probable that some of the opportunists misuse this pure and spiritual ceremony for their own political purposes. Be aware and nullify such plans. Imam Husayn (‘a) belongs to all people. Being more exact, all of the freedom fighters of the world belong to him, receive an inspiration f r o m his school and are impartial.
6. The respected orators and elegists avoid mentioning the weak and doubtful tragic stories and describe strongly whatever is about bravery and devotion of these honorable martyrs.
7. Avoid doing the acts hurting the body particularly self-mutilation which badly lead to damage the reputation of the world of Shia. If the former great scholars were present they had built consensus about its illegality.
8. The enemy knows that the Ashura causes to flow the fresh blood in the vessels of the lovers of Husayn (‘a) every year and makes them to resist the enemy bravely by following his highness’s school. Therefore the enemy plans to erase the Ashura f r o m people’s memory or mix it with superstitions. The honorable mourners should nullify both of these two plans.
May the exalted Allah accept prayers and mourning of all dears.
