The Saudi Authorities’ Attitude with the Shia Is Unacceptable

We warn the Saudi officials that such extreme actions will seriously hurt the feelings of Shias all around the world and shall have negative consequences.‌

We are receiving alarming news on the Saudi officials’ behavior with the Shias of Ahsa and Qatif. Some of them have been arrested for simply demanding freedom of religious practice or have been restricted in numerous ways. Even more alarming is the news of whispers to hang the honorable scholar Sheikh al-Nimr.

We warn the Saudi officials that such extreme actions will seriously hurt the feelings of the followers of the Ahlul Bayt’s (‘a) School all around the world and shall have negative consequences.

Instead of coercion, it is better that the Saudi authorities listen to their people’s requests. They want their violated rights. They ask for the freedom to practice their religious rituals. They adore their country. What kind of logic or thought allows such actions against these legitimate requests?
I am amazed how Human Rights organizations are silent when such events happen in regimes allied to imperialistic countries whereas, they quickly bustle with the slightest incident in other countries.
Anyhow, I reiterate once again: Ruling the capital punishment for a great scholar in the region is not something which the Marjas and scholars of the Shia and the school of Ahlul Bayt or their adherents all around the world will tolerate.
And our regards be to those who follow the path of guidance.
