In a meeting held between Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi and a group of teachers from Japan's Kyoto University, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi referring to the Iranian people's historical ties with Japan reiterated: we believe that Japanese people are smart, active and honest. We hold Japanese people up as an example of active and progressive people.
Pointing the hard natural disaster took place in Japan, he said: we get really sad and grieved when hard natural disaster occur in Japan and embrangles Japanese people.
Referring to the expansion of ties between Iran and Japan, he reiterated: it is necessary to improve our relationship with Japan day by day and hold these meetings more than before.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi continued: we should have numerous and serious discussions with each other especially in religious matters and this is not possible unless we have more communication with each other.
Pointing Western propaganda against Iran and Japan, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said: Unfortunately, the Western political issues sometimes cause us to be far apart. The enemy’s false propaganda against both of us will make us to be far apart from each other.
He also remarked: we should know each other by ourselves, without paying attention to foreign propaganda.
