Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi in a meeting with a number of Palestinian scholars -residing in Lebanon- who has come to Iran to participate in the 24th anniversary of passing of Imam Khomeini stated: your sadness saddens us and your happiness make us happy and such visits make Muslims more united.
His eminence regarded unity as a fundamental principle and referring to some verses and ahadiths counted disunity as destructive as earthquake and thunderstorm.
“Our enemies after being defeated in Iraq and Afghanistan are aiming their plots at making disunity amongst Muslims and encouraging them to kill one another. In such condition Muslims especially scholars must be vigilant.” His eminence remarked.
Elsewhere in his speech Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi stated: the issue of Syria will be solved only by the unity of Muslims and by the hands of Syrians. No other country has right to make decision for Syria. Some other figures however, have taken another approach which will not result but in corruption, more disunity and conflict amongst Muslims.
His eminence referring to the foreign guests participating in the anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s demise stated: after 24 years people f r o m around the world come to mark this event as Imam has just passed away; this shows how great, brave and sincere this man was.
He counted the issue of Palestine as one of the most important issues of Islamic world and added: Islamic awakening has open new horizons towards the Islamic world and this opportunity must be benefited f r o m in the best possible way.
His eminence considered struggling in Allah’s (swt) path a significant issue and stated: whosoever strives in Allah’s path, Allah surely will help him.
“Muslim scholars should be the source of guidance for Muslims and they must reveal the plots of enemies. The Muslim Ummah share numerous commonalities therefore minute differences among them should not lead to a situation which only makes our enemies happy.” His eminence remarked.
He highlighted the fact that the only way for the Islamic Ummah to defeat Israel is the solidarity of Muslims and Muslim scholars. “At this moment there exist many in different parts of the world who want to hear about Islamic basics and we should appreciate this opportunity. If we are preoccupied with small disagreements we will surely lose this opportunity. Our enemies thereafter will be able to carry out their vicious plots and we are going to be held accountable for losing this golden chance in the Day of Judgment” his eminence stated.
He urged Muslim scholars all around the world to become more united and stated: in the Islamic Republic of Iran Shias and Sunnis live together in peace and observe their Islamic rituals in accordance with their schools of thought.
It is worth mentioning that in the beginning of this meeting some of the scholars appreciated his eminence’s efforts and highlighted the role of Islamic Republic of Iran in the Islamic world and called to more unity amongst Muslims so that they can stand fast against arrogant regimes.
