Why the International Community Is Silent on the Tragic Events of Bahrain

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi analyzed and assessed Bahrain situation in the beginning of his Fiqh course and remarked: We continuously receive horrible news from Bahrain,. What do the Bahraini Muslims demand? They want the same democracy and popular sovereignty that you are seeking in other parts, to be established in their country. But peaceful protests are aggressively responded by Bahraini rulers.
 We have Recently received two horrible news from Bahrain: first thirty Shiite mosques being demolished and razed to the ground with bulldozers overnight, and even the Qur΄an and the supplication books have been disrespected. second, nine Bahraini scholars who had formed a population Called “the Bahrain Ulema Council” in order to handle religious affairs, have been put under pressure and the council also was shut down. Where are the international human rights communities? Why don’t they protest and why are they silent? Muslim scholars should also protest against such events. We ask Allah (swt) for the victory of scholars and people of Bahrain .
