Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi in a meeting with Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and his deputies, commemorating the Unity Week, said: we hope one day, the Islamic Sects live well and peacefully together.
Emphasizing that Qur'an has paid a special attention to the Unity issue, he reiterated: division is likened to a devastating earthquake and thunderbolt in Qur'an. This indicates the great importance of the Unity of the Islamic Ummah.
Expressing his regret for inattention to religious teachings related to the Unity of the Islamic Ummah, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi noted: The Holy Qur'an also considers division and discord to be in correspondence with Polytheism (Shirk). It is not known why there are still some people who foment discord in spite of these important warnings?
Stressing on the Islamic Ummah΄s return to the Qur'an teachings, he mentioned the attacks on the followers of Ahl al-Bayt, and said: the attacks performed by global arrogance and enemies of Shi'ite, shows the power and effectiveness of this school which shocked the world and frightened the arrogant powers.
His eminence expressed: the Shi'ite extend a hand of friendship towards Muslim sects in everywhere; we have repeatedly stated that the sanctities of the Islamic sects should not be insulted.
Noting that the enemy hopes to foment discord between Muslims, he said: Unfortunately, we must admit that the enemies have succeeded in these aims and conspiracies, and the tragic events in Syria, Iraq, Egypt and other Muslim countries represent this issue.
His eminence pointed that the foreigners are the origin of all these events and unfortunately some of the Islamic governments have become the puppet of the arrogant powers. He emphasized: wherever the Takfiri Wahhabism has stepped, it brought nothing but damage, killings and massacres. Since the first day of Human Creation, no crime has happened such as the crimes they are committing.
He stated: the Muslims, whether Shia or Sunni, should j o i n hands and remove Takfiri Movements and prove that they are out of the circle of Islam. He continued: this is a shame that their Fatwas are against the essentials of Islam.
In the end, he wished success for all authorities of the WFPIST and said: We hope that all Muslims get awake and all Islamic countries live under peace and tranquility.
