Takfiri Currents Have Tarnished the Reputation of Islam All Around the World

“We should make it clear that these groups are just a small minority. The majority of Muslims however, are against them. Those thoughtless and stupid acts of theirs are in no way consistent with Islamic teachings.” His eminence remarked

 

Grand Ayatollah Makarem shirazi in the opening ceremony of the international conferences of “The danger of Takfiri currents for Islam, Muslims and humanity and the way-outs” which was held at Imam al-Sajad school, Qom touched upon the goals of this congress and appreciated the presence of thinkers and scholars from different schools in the conference.

 

His eminence referring to the fact that the main conference will be held the next year reiterated: “Today, the risk of these Takfiri groups is quite clear for all Islamic schools therefore all schools  should give this problem a great deal of thought so that we will be able to put an end to these currents.”

 

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi highlighting the fact that no group has demolished Islam and Muslims like these Takfiris has done, stated: quite a few ongoing clashes within Islamic countries are caused by Takfiris.

 

“There was a time when our enemies would send their troops to Islamic countries for war. Now however they arm Muslim extremists and send them to kill their Muslim brothers while they themselves sit aside and watch Muslims killing one another.” His eminence remarked

 

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi emphasizing on the fact that now all sense the risk of those currents for Islam and Muslims, rejected the state of silence and passiveness towards those groups.

 

 

His eminence added: This current has not only damaged Muslims’ reputation but also has tarnished Islam which is the religion of peace. This problem must be taken care of and that is why this conference is going to be held.

 

His eminence emphasized that this ideology has been so far serving Islamophobia. We should make it clear that these groups are just a small minority and the majority of Muslims are against them. Those thoughtless and stupid acts of theirs are in no way consistent with Islamic teachings.

 

We should not remain silent towards this issue. We must show the world that these are not following Islam.

 

They have misunderstood the Quran in many cases. They could be considered the most ignorant ones when it comes to understanding the Quran and Hadiths.

 

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi considered the absence of mutual understanding between Islamic schools as one of the main problems in the Islamic world and remarked: Selective approach of these Takfiris towards the Quran made them to do what they do and stain the image of Islam and Muslims.

 

Intelligence services together with western media are playing a great role for supporting such groups. This is them who provide them with money and arms.

 

We hope that this congress which is to be held the next year will be a good start and an opportunity for getting benefit from Islamic scholars from all around the globe for this issue.
