Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam and one of the greatest acts of worship
In a brief, yet profound sentence, the Holy Quran states the following regarding the Hajj rites:
“وَ لِلّه عَلَى النّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَیْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطاعَ اِلَیْهِ سَبیلاً”
“Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah,- those who can afford the journey;”
And then Allah continues the same verse as follows:
“وَ مَنْ کَفَرَ فَاِنَّ اللّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ الْعالَمینَ”
“But if any deny faith [i.e. refrains deliberately from making the Hajj pilgrimage], Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures [and it is that denier who has harmed himself by disobeying Allah]”.
This great pillar of Islam enjoys numerous rules and laws and the pilgrims must learn them all and act based on them. Therefore, in order to provide religious services for the dear Hajj pilgrims, the office of Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi sends a group of scholars as the representatives of his eminence to his office in Medina every year in the Hajj season to answer the religious questions of the Hajj pilgrims and the clergies accompanying them.
It is also noteworthy that Hujjatol-Eslam Nazari Monfared will be giving speeches in the office of his eminence at 10 a.m. every day for ten days starting today.
