Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi's Statement in Response to French President's Insult to the Noble Prophet of Islam (s)

In recent days, the Muslim world was moved by the news of the ignorant French president's insolent sacrilege of the Noble Prophet of Islam (s), who is the epitome of Divine mercy.‌

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Compassionate

In recent days, the Muslim world was moved by the news of the ignorant French president's insolent sacrilege of the Noble Prophet of Islam (s), who is the epitome of Divine mercy. Muslims are extremely enraged by his disrespectful and shameless remarks, which have fomented widespread hatred and outrage. Which sound mind could accept to hurt the feelings of hundreds of millions of Muslims across the world through abominable and loathsome sacrilege of their Prophet (s), planting the seeds of hostility in their hearts?! Does the concept of freedom of expression in the West mean making blasphemous remarks about the sanctities of Muslims?! Would any wise person do such an imprudent and foolish act?! If western politicians possessed political wisdom and prudence, they would not antagonize the Muslim world, but rather they would act prudently instead of getting involved in adventurism.

Upon witnessing the influence and growth of Islam in the west with their own eyes, the enemies of Islam came up with a satanic plot, conspired to back up an extremist and deviant cult, that is, the Takfiri Wahhabism so as to tarnish the Divine image of Islam in people's minds, seeking to spread Islamophobia and profanity among people with the intention of extinguishing the illuminating light emanating from the Prophet of mercy's religion.

We must prove that the Holy Prophet (s) is more valuable to us than our own body and soul and our loved ones. It is incumbent upon Islamic governments to prevent the recurrence of such insults by adopting the required political and economic approaches as well as exerting pressure on the French government.
