In his meeting with the executives of “the Dangers of the Takfiri Movement” Conference in Imam Amir al-Mo’menin (‘a) School, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi expressed his gratitude to the authorities of this conference and said, “I hope this conference , which will be held this autumn in Qum, can have important effects and blessings for the Islamic world”.
Pointing to the fact that the high-ranking officials of the government are very interested in this conference he stated, “High ranking authorities have required the involved organizations to have due cooperation with the conference.”
His eminence referring to unpleasant situation of the Islamic World reiterated: the Islamic World is experiencing one of its most critical situations during its 1400-year-history.. The enemies of Islam, in all Muslim countries, have set the fire of war between Muslim brothers as the blood of Muslims is shed by people who pretend to be Muslims.”
He added, “There is mess in Syria and Iraq; Muslims are killing looting and raping their fellow Muslims, and the reason behind all this is ignorance, self-desires and the provocations caused by the enemies of Islam.”
He reminded, “Things have become so terrible that in Iraq the Kurdish authorities backstab their own country and nation. As the famous Egyptian writer says, they are trying to open the doors of hell towards their own nation.”
Addressing the authorities of Kurdistan in Iraq, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi reiterated, “If you create a small country, you will undoubtedly have to always obey America and Israel, whereas, if Iraq becomes united, strong and stable, you can stand on your own feet just like the Islamic Republic of Iran has.”
He said, “I wonder, why some people talk of separation and don’t realize the plot the enemy has created”
His eminence reacted to the self-proclamation of caliphate by the leader of the terrorist group ISIS and said, “Someone has dreamed and announced himself as the caliph of Muslims, planning to rule over all countries. Who has appointed you that you allow yourself to assert such an illusory, baseless, and unproven claim?”
Emphasizing that the Takfiris are an important tool for turmoil in the Islamic world, he stressed, “They set Syria and Iraq on fire and killed many. The same people are causing unrest in Pakistan and Afghanistan.”
Expressing that the problems of the Takfiris are not just this and that, he said, “The main problem is that our enemies say in their media that this is the true nature of Islam”
Stating that the Takfiris have brought great destruction to Islam, Muslims, and humanity, he expressed, “They haven’t just damaged the Islamic belief, they have also caused damage to Islamic Laws as well. They advertise the worst kind of prostitution, which is too shameful to be spoken of, in the name of Jihad ul-Nikah, and no doubt they shall put their focus on something else in the future.”
Expressing the fact that, the “Dangers of the Takfiri Currents Conference” attempts to make consensus amongst Muslim scholars, awaken the nations and isolate such currents , he elaborated, “If Muslim scholars reach consensus and this news is spread, less people will be deceived or influenced by their beliefs and opinions.”
He said, “a man comes and based on his imaginations declares himself as the caliph of Muslims, if Muslim scholars announce that such people are out of the Islamic realm, such worldly desires would decrease.”
He specified, “Another benefit of this conference is that the world will know that Islam is the religion of kindness, mercy, brotherhood, peace, and safety and Takfiri currents are ignorant to Islam.”
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi evaluated the Takfiri understanding of Islam as being wrong and inappropriate and continued, “You do not have the right to define the criteria for heresy and Islam with your weak minds and then force everyone to accept it”
He emphasized, “Why should everyone obey you? You have a wrong and foolish perception of heresy and faith, and you force your wrong understanding on everyone and decapitate whoever disagrees, whether Sunni or Shia.”
Deploring the fact that the imperialists of the world enjoy a peaceful country while Muslims are engaged in civil wars, his eminence reiterated, “Unfortunately, the wealth of some Islamic country is given to terrorists. Shouldn’t the scholars of the Islamic World wake up and warn their people about this?”
The president of the “Dangers of the Takfiri Currents Conference” expressed that the international and regional supporters of terrorism and Takfiri currents should be ashamed of themselves. He said, “We do not invite people to make illogical efforts, the way out of this danger is through logical, and thought-out ways. We have chosen this path. We hope to have good achievements on this path.”
