Dignity of Muslims Is Bound Up With Solidarity

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi emphasized on the fact that we considers scholars as well as the people of Azerbaijan as our brothers and described “Hajj” -this illustrious phenomenon- as a source for strengthening the sense of solidarity and sympathy amongst Muslims.

His eminence highlighted the fact that the philosophy behind Hajj is that Islam intends to prove that Muslims all across the world are one great reality and they all are brothers. This mentality should be fortified and no geographical boundaries should hinder this.

Elsewhere in his talk his eminence remarked: Islam is a very strong and profound school. At this time and more than anytime Muslims need to be united. If Muslims get together and become united they surely will live as a strong, noble and honored community.

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi stated: solidarity of Muslims is what scares arrogant governments. They are afraid of the day all Muslims are united therefore they try their best to divide Muslims and spread suspicion and pessimism amongst Muslim.

His eminence expressed his deep sorrow for the woeful statue of some Islamic countries and remarked: if we take look at Islamic countries we will see how brothers are killing each other and destroy their own countries and all of this is caused by the enemies.

 “We really feel close to our brother and friend country. We are looking forward the day when our Azeri brothers would come to Iran and Iranians travel to Azerbaijan without any bureaucracy like visa and the like. Commonalities between Iran and Azerbaijan are numerous; they therefore can help one another in political as well as economic issues and resolve possible problems in between the two countries. We expect to meet you and your friends again in Iran and hope for more and stronger ties between us.   His eminence stated.”
