Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi’s Statement regarding the Horrendous Terrorist Attack in Kuwait

We strongly condemn this unprecedented crime and condole with the families of the victims, and at the same time we warn all our Muslim brothers, both Shiites and Sunnites, and even non-Muslim people of the world not to keep silent in face of such terrible incidents.‌

In the Name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful

“We are of Allah and to Him is our return”

The heinous terrorist attack committed by the Takfiri groups, who are alien both to Islam and humanity, which left a large number of our brothers and sisters dead in Kuwait, showed that these savage groups know no boundary in their atrocities.

Murdering a large number of innocent people, including women and children, in the holy month of Ramadan, in the house of Allah, and while they were saying prayer, requires such levels of brutality, unbelief, and barbarity that is almost without precedent.

We strongly condemn this unprecedented crime and condole with the families of the victims, and at the same time we warn all our Muslim brothers, both Shiites and Sunnites, and even non-Muslim people of the world not to keep silent in face of such terrible crimes and know that these criminals will not show mercy even to those who are supporting them today and soon these tragedies will be inflicted on them too.

If all Muslims unite against these terrorists, it is, without a doubt, not a difficult task to eliminate these Takfiris from the region and they had better do it today than tomorrow.

We are certain that those who were martyred in this terrorist attack will be close to the Muslims who were martyred in the time of the Great Prophet (s) and the martyrs of Karbala and those who were wounded in this incident will be rewarded by Allah the same as those who were wounded in Karbala.

We demand the government of Kuwait to thoroughly investigate this crime, to find those responsible for it, and to punish them with the maximum punishment.
We sympathize with the bereaved families and we ask Allah to punish the criminals who commit these atrocities with his Divine Justice and by the hands of the awakened and brave Muslims.
“And the help of Allah is (always) near”
