Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi’s Statement in Appreciation of the Hard Work of the Medical Staff and the Voluntary Helpers at Hospitals and His Important Recommendations for Prayers on the Blessed Day of Shaʻbān 15th
It is advisable for the people to pray to Allah on the night of the blessed day of Shaʻbān 15th [for the eradication of the new disease in the world]/the best way to appreciate the hardworking medical staff is to take their advice
In an important statement released on the occasion of the blessed day of Shaʻbān 15th, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi offered some important recommendations to all the people.
Extending his heartiest congratulations to all on the occasion of the blessed birth anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi (‘a) and the blessed day of Shaʻbān 15th , his eminence stated: “It is advisable for all the people to pray to Allah on the night of the blessed day of Shaʻbān 15th, adjuring Him by Imam al-Mahdi (‘a) and his pure ancestors, to end this disastrous pandemic and to restore all the sick people good health. People must know that their prayers are quite effective and they are close to being answered.”
His eminence then emphasized the importance of personal and public hygiene and asked people to closely follow the health and safety instructions issued by the authorities. He also expressed his profound gratitude toward the Medical staff, doctors, and nurses who have worked hard to combat COVID-19 epidemic and save the lives of patients suffering from it, and further noted: “The best way to appreciate the hardworking medical staff is to take their advice. I ask our dear people to continue acing based on the instructions issued by the healthcare authorities, just as they have so far done so, and to not leave their homes unless when it is absolutely necessary.”
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi also praised the sincere efforts made by the various groups of voluntary helpers at hospitals, including young Islamic seminary students and clerics, university students, and the members of the Basij force, for helping the medical staff at hospitals.
It is noteworthy that Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi sent some gifts to the various groups of voluntary helpers at hospitals, as well as to the bereaved families of the medical staff and the voluntary helpers who lost their lives fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.
