The message of his eminence to some Muftis of Hijaz and Egypt

Those Muftis who condemn the uprising of people against the tyrants must reconsider their Fatwas immediately and j o i n the ranks of Muslim community; they should not lose initiative in this field and must not let the enemies of Islam to exploit this situation in their own favor.‌

In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the merciful
One of the issues that can be seen in the great uprising of Muslim nations against the tyrants is the position of some of their scholars. It has been reported in news that some Muftis of Hijaz and Egypt have banned these actions and even some of them have considered the protesters as the corrupters in the earth, while the main goal of these uprisings is to eradicate injustice and corruption in the earth.
Their reason for such position-taking is their wrong Fatwa since long ago which has estranged them from Islamic community and especially from the youth, the old fatwa which considers it obligatory to obey everyone who holds the power, whether he is a just governor or a tyrant. Some of these scholars even include Yazid and Mongol Genghis among those governors who must be obeyed.
Now it is the time for them to reconsider that wrong Fatwa and exclude the tyrant governors from those whose obedience is obligatory, they must encourage people to rise against tyrants as an obligatory act, considering the tyrant governors and their supporters as the corrupters in the earth.
The Holy Quran clearly states that "if two groups of believers fight, you should try to reconcile them, if one of them is oppressing the other, fight the oppressors until they submit to God's command" doesn’t this verse include some people like the governors of Libya, Egypt and Bahrain?
It has been mentioned in the book of "Tabari", one of the famous history books of Sunnis that our holy prophet (P.B.U.H) said: anyone who sees a tyrant governor who allows what Allah has prohibited and breaks the covenant of God and opposes the tradition of his prophet and oppresses the servants of God, the person who sees this situation and does not oppose him in word and deed will suffer the same destiny in hereafter as the destiny of that tyrant. (The history of Tabari, Vol.4, Page 304)
Therefore, it is necessary for those Muftis who condemn the uprising of people against the tyrants to reconsider their Fatwas immediately and j o i n the ranks of Muslim community; they should not lost initiative in this field and must not let the enemies of Islam to turn this situation in their own favor that may cause a greater trouble for people.
