In a meeting with a number of Zaydiyyah scholars from Yemen, and while referring to some verses of the Quran, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said: “Allah Almighty will grant those, who work hard in his cause, guidance and victory”.
He, then, added: “Allah assists and guides the devoted and sincere individuals; albeit guidance is divided in to two kinds: the first kind of guidance is the one in which Allah shows one the way in which to achieve a goal, which is a general guidance for all the people; the other kind of guidance is the one in which he takes one, step by step, towards his purpose until one achieves it; this latter type of guidance is peculiar to the sincere devotees”.
Referring to the verses of the Quran and stating that the sincere people and those who struggle in the way of Allah will be granted victory by Allah, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said: “our brothers in Yemen are among such people and we hope that the Divine promise would, soon, be fulfilled about them and they would be granted victory”.
Referring to the ever-increasing growth of Islam in different communities he asserted: “today an abundant number of the people in the world have turned to Islam and are attracted towards it. In the current situation the best thing for the Muslim people is to maintain their unity”.
His eminence, then, stated: “the Quran calls us to unity and solidarity, and we must act based on the verses of the Quran, for, the deceived ones seek to create schism and discord among the Muslim people”.
Stressing the importance of maintaining the unity among the Muslim people, and stating that the discord among the Muslim people will only benefit the tyrants, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi noted: “In order to create a safety margin for themselves in the region, the western countries, the US, and Israel have no way, now, other than creating discord and division among the Muslim people”.
He further said: “this is while there is very little disagreement among the Muslim people, as Muslim people have no disagreement with each other over the Quran and most of the rituals of Hajj are common among them and the same for all of them”.
Referring to the commonalities between the Shiites and the Zaydiyyah his eminence noted: “Zaydiyyah believes in the Quran and the Ahl al-Beit (as); thus, there are much more common points that we share with them compared to other Muslim sects; thus we are close to you and you are close to us”.
He continued: “generally speaking, there is very little difference and disagreement among Muslim people; yet, the difference and disagreement between us and the Zaydiyyah is even less.”
His eminence, then, added: “we are monitoring the events in Yemen, and we pray for the success and the victory of the revolutionists in this country”.
He also noted: “now if you travel in our cities you will realize that what enemies say about us is all trumpeted-up and untrue; in times like these, we have to convene and resolve the problems through talks and negotiations”.
